Lee Littlechild transferred from an intense and busy sales office at Alpine Nurseries Sydney to Impact Grasses in January 2010. Lee's role as Nursery and Sales Manager has provided many new challenges as Lee focuses on building sales to existing clients and creating new opportunities in the local Queensland market. Part of the challenge is spreading the Impact story by leaving a fresh impression in the mind of the greater landscape community of a positive, capable, growing and vibrant nursery hungry for your business.
Lee has 25 years experience in Horticulture, starting out as a nursery hand at Renaissance Herbs in 1985, quickly moving up the ranks to become Assistant Manager in 8 months, where she stayed for over 5 years. When Lee's husband, Ron, had his mid life crisis in 1990 and moved his entire family to Dubbo to experience "outback" Australia, Lee started her long and successful relationship with the Mitre 10 group, helping to design, layout and stock their new gardens centres. Lee managed each store for a period of 12 months to get the centres up and running and iron out any problems before moving on to the next one. During this time Lee was selected to be on the National Buyers committee for Mitre 10, travelling Australia to view wholesale nurseries responsible for sighting then selecting greenlife and allied products for the seasonal catalogues and store specials throughout the year.
After 7 years of this nomadic lifestyle, Lee took up a position of Sales Manager at Plantmark and after 5 years was enticed to move to Alpine in 2003. Lee wanted to be part of a company offering exciting challenges and growth and she has certainly found that at Alpine. Lee brought plenty of energy to the office and during her time as Sales Manager she increased the dispatch and sales team headcount to 20. Lee also reorganised the office space with a welcoming, people friendly feel, further enabling the sales team to provide the quality service Alpine is renowned for.
As well as being a keen tennis player, swimmer, and novice golfer, Lee is an avid baby lover and is happiest surrounded by not only her own 10 grandchildren, great nieces and nephews. Her office walls are covered with pictures of the babies of most of the Alpine Staff and Lee is also Godmother to 5 of her friend's children's children. Lee takes this role seriously, often having them for holidays and outings. Lee says she is keeping an eye on future generations of nursery staff that will lead this industry into the future.
